The community of Greenville and Campbell, Texas, is deeply saddened by the passing of Jacob Aaron Vasquez, a beloved son, brother, fiancé, uncle, and friend, who passed away on November 22, 2025, at the age of 38. Jacob’s unexpected departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Born on November 14, 1987, in Dallas, Texas, to Elizabeth Allison Legal and Rudy Vasquez, Jacob grew into a strong, hardworking, and devoted man whose character was defined by loyalty, kindness, and a rare ability to brighten the lives of others. His family remembers him as someone who lived fully, loved deeply, and gave generously—always willing to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer support.
Funeral services honoring Jacob’s life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the memorial service at 11:00 AM. The family deeply appreciates your prayers, support, and compassion during this difficult time.
Jacob is survived by his loving parents, Daryl and Elizabeth Freelen of Campbell and Rudy Vasquez of Allen; his fiancée, Jeanette Williams; his big brother, Jason Vasquez, and fiancée Kara Colemon; his little sister, Kameron Freelen, and fiancée Kirk Burrell; his little brother, Kason Freelen, and wife Rebecca; and his best friend and loyal truck companion, Kilo. He is also survived by his nephew, Gage Vasquez; nieces, Gabbie and Addison Vasquez, and Kaselyn Cooke; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a large circle of friends who cherished him. Jacob is preceded in death by his grandparents Jeff and Louise Jefferson, and Felix and Porfillia Vasquez.
A talented mechanic and skilled welder, Jacob had a remarkable gift for understanding how things worked. He approached every challenge with patience and precision, taking pride in the work of his hands and the service he provided to others. His dedication extended beyond his trade—Jacob lived a life of purpose, adventure, and heart.
He found solace and happiness in the outdoors, whether kayaking, fishing, hunting, camping, or exploring Texas landscapes. A natural athlete, he spent many years playing softball and even competed in semi-pro football, building friendships and earning respect everywhere he went. Jacob was also known for his mastery of the grill and smoker—his barbecue brought people together, and his warm, vibrant presence made every gathering feel like home.
Jacob’s contagious smile, unwavering loyalty, and generous spirit defined him. He lived boldly, laughed deeply, and loved fully. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched, the stories he leaves behind, and the love that continues to surround him.
He will be profoundly missed, remembered always, and forever cherished.
